Sharyn was born in Mansfield, Mass. Being that her father was the Aviation Commander for Special Forces, Sharyn got to live in many parts of our country and in the world. Finally settling in the Hudson Valley in New York she married her husband Jim. They have four children, all grown.
It wasn’t until they moved to California, that Sharyn started taking lessons and painting, first with acrylics in the late ‘90’s and then changing to oil. Her two beautiful granddaughters were her inspiration to start painting children. Known for her brilliant colors, her paintings show her love for children. Now residing in San Clemente, she has branched out with painting of local buildings, seascapes, and other subjects. An award winning artist she belongs to the San Clemente Art Association and the Niguel Art Association, and has become well known in Southern California. She is part of the Quorum Art Gallery in Laguna Beach, Ca. and has art showing in several area restaurants. Her best known work was “9/11 Coast to Coast”. A painting from the heart showing the American Flag at half mast on a large piece of driftwood on a beach in San Clemente.
When not painting Sharyn is happy playing tennis or volunteering for the Assistance League of Laguna Beach, Ca and the Ocean Institute in Dana Point.
